WHY A FARM?
At North Country School & Camp Treetops, our farm offers hands-on learning for students and faculty, and our program is deeply rooted in our Mission and Values. The perpetual rhythms of farming require an attentive and purposeful curriculum, allowing for cross-curricular opportunities that connect seamlessly with our math, science, and arts curriculum. Math students calculate how much garlic, or vegetables, can be planted, arts classes trek to the barn to sketch sheep and chickens, then head back to our studios to sculpt, paint, and create their own artistic interpretations of farm life and its rhythms.
Our farm connects us with our community and the land, teaching each student and faculty member more about where our food comes from and how we are part of the local and global food system.
