Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Yunga has nearly 15 years of experience in the educational field with six of those being spent leading DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) work in independent schools. She has a B.S. in Sociology, and M.A. in Education and a DEI Leadership Certificate through Cornell University. As a diversity leader, she has led a team of over 50 educators responsible for DEI curriculum planning, professional development, and community events. Her professional experience over the years has taught her the benefits of healthy communication, collaboration, and empathy. Yunga plans to include all constituents and ensure that everyone has a voice at North Country School. Her leadership philosophy is to guarantee that team members practice DEI work and lead by example, rather than through hierarchy. She comes from a large family and is a mother to a daughter attending Howard University. In her spare time, she loves to cook, take walks, and share meaningful conversations with friends.
