Jane Shapiro

Jane (she/her) earned a Master’s degree in education from Fordham University and an Advanced Certificate in Teaching Exceptional Learners from the Relay Graduate School of Education. Jane holds New York State certification in teaching students with disabilities. Prior to joining the North Country School community in 2022, Jane taught for 10 years in New York City in classroom, small group, and individual settings. She is passionate about helping students understand themselves as learners, set goals, and grow in their independence both in and out of the classroom.
Jane grew up in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. When not working with students, Jane enjoys hiking, camping, woodworking, and returning to Brooklyn to visit her favorite restaurants.
