
Sam Meigs
Substitute Faculty, Support Houseparent
Sam grew up in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York, where developed a love of nature and hiking. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY New Paltz where he minored in studio art. Sam joins us from New York City where he worked for NYC Parks, teaching ecology lessons to school groups and park visitors in The Bronx. Sam worked with at-risk teenagers in a wilderness therapy program, mentoring them on social-emotional intelligence and wilderness camping skills. He has also roamed the country, working on research projects on wild birds and sustainable agriculture. In his free time, Sam loves hiking, birding, and playing guitar.
