Applications are now open for North Country School’s “Impactful Voices” Theater Camp 2026, July 27-31 at the School’s Lake Placid campus. This transformative weeklong theater camp is available to all interested North Country children ages 10-17 and offers area youth an opportunity to explore their creativity, build confidence, and use their voices through the performing arts.
The camp is free of charge, and lunch is provided for all participants. Those interested should submit an application by July 15 online at https://bit.ly/49QDKT8.
The camp is made possible with support from the Essex County Arts Council’s Cultural Assistance Program Grant. This support ensures the program is accessible to all interested students from the region who have a passion for theater and storytelling. “Impactful Voices” aims to empower youth participants by providing a platform to create their unique performance piece over the week.
Empowering Youth Theater
“This Impact Theater Camp dives into the transformative power of theater and its ability to give a voice to young people,” said Courtney Allen, Theater Teacher at North Country School. “Campers will be the playwrights, the set designers and builders, the costumers, and the actors.”
Participants will debut their performance for friends, family, and the public on Friday, July 31, at 7 pm in the North Country School Performing Arts Center’s Don Rand Theater. A reception will be held after the performance with an actor talkback.
“This camp provides a platform for young performers to grow in ability and confidence,” Allen emphasized.
