LAKE PLACID, NY – Nationally acclaimed artists and performers will work with students from around the region on Saturday at North Country School in Lake Placid to explore the intersection of diversity, equity and inclusion and the arts. Todd Moe talks with Yunga Webb, North Country School’s Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, one of the organizers, about the importance of creating space for diverse voices in the arts.

Yunga Webb says at North Country School, “Art Every Day” is a signature program of the curriculum for its 4th through 9th grade students, placing value on the wealth of benefits the arts bring to individual students.

The Arts in the Adirondacks: Amplifying Diverse Voices event is open to elementary, middle, high school, and college students from area schools.  It will include an afternoon of artist presentations, workshops in visual arts, a panel discussion, and culminate in an evening showcase of performances open to the public.
