WE ARE LAKE PLACID: MATT SMITH, NORTH COUNTRY SCHOOL

MARCH 2021 — Lake Placid News Editor Andy Flynn interviewed North Country School Director Matt Smith about the Lamb Watch program. The school has a working farm, including barn animals, and ninth-grade students spend nights in the barn this time of year to monitor the pregnant ewes and see if they go into labor.

NORTH COUNTRY SCHOOL DONATES HARVEST TO LOCAL FOOD PANTRY

SUMMER 2020 — Beginning shortly after classes ended in May 2020, Garden Manager Tess Faller began making weekly runs to the Lake Placid Ecumenical Food Pantry, loading up the bed of a pickup truck with a colorful collection of crates that included leafy greens, shiny peppers, and plump tomatoes, all grown on the North Country School and Camp Treetops campus.
